what do 11 month babies do?

i decided to document the funny and milestone-ish things isaac does. he is quite the character and i can already tell i'll forget these things if i dont get them out! i already forgot when he started sitting up...when he first rolled over...crazy stuff like that. i know, mom of the year, huh? here are a few of the things he does:

he's quite the clapper. he likes to watch nashville star and clap when the singers perform.

he also started trying to snap his fingers to the beat of mom's "snap snap snap your fingers" song. it's pretty cute to see him try getting his fingers together and he just stares at yours when they make that cool snapping sound.

last tuesday (7-1) he unknowingly took his first step! i was holding him as he was playing with a toy and i let go, without him knowing, and he took a wobbly step and then collapsed. it was the beginning of his balancing act. he's getting pretty stable on his own, although he prefers to pull himself up on mom's leg, the couch, the swivel computer chair (not a great idea...), and anything he can muscle.

the day after his 11 month birthday...july 6th...we noticed something really sharp in his mouth. i was a little sad, but at least you can't see that little tooth yet. it sure is a sharp one and i think he's working on more, but when you look inside his mouth it's nearly impossible to see.

he loves holding items up to the side of his head (like a phone) and blabble. it's super hilarious when he does it with something other than a phone. he's been known to use a toothbrush, tv changer, sippy cup, stuffed animal, and lastly...his bare hand.

oh, i can't forget the fake cough. i'm sure lots of kids do/did this, but i just can't even tell you how funny it is. it's so obviously fake and i wonder what their little minds are thinking! is he already starting to manipulate me?

to go along with the fake cough, there's the fake laugh...or the courtesy laugh. when other people are laughing he'll chime in with his fake laugh. does he feel left out? can he tell it really wasn't that funny?

when i'm feeding him baby food and some comes out of his mouth, he'll quickly shove it back in with the back of his hand. it's messy, sure, but super cute nonetheless!

the most adorable/annoying thing he does is play with your ear when he gets tired. everyone says how cute it looks, but that kid manipulates your cartilage in all the wrong ways. it's ridiculously painful. it sounds totally gross, but i've had scabs in my ears from him knicking the inside of my ear with his fingernails!

he also takes advantage of your face with his little tiny fingers by poking your eye balls, sticking his fingers straight up your nose (i've gotten a couple bloody noses from this), playing with your eyelashes, and playing with my hair.

he sounds fun, huh? i sure like him in spite of all the painful things he puts us through :) he's a really happy baby and just loves to laugh. it's the greatest feeling in the world when you can make him belly laugh...not to mention how super cute it sounds!
