what would you pay to rejuvinate your body?

the night before i left for utah, i slept at my uncle bruce and aunt jeannine's house. we got home at like 11pm and i was so tired. i apologized for not talking and went straight to bed. well, my aunt had just gotten a new bed from costco. it's a sealy posturepedic waterbrook mattress. oh my gosh, i haven't had a better night's sleep in all my life. the next morning i was sure i had to have one. i could tell that it was a ton more firm than my bed *yet not too firm*. i knew i wouldn't feel derik bouce around and twitch as much as i do now.

my, oh my, was it comfortable! so i told derik that i needed it and he sounded entertained by the idea, but didn't shut it down. then, when he could tell how serious i was at getting the mattress, he shut it down. now that he knows i'm relentless, he's said i can get the mattress if i save for it. i've also heard that costco puts coupons out in the mail for around $100-150 off. that's a big chunk of the $899.99 it retails for. i'm so excited to sleep on this bed, i can hardly contain myself.

not only do i sleep terribly, i have a hard time falling asleep and staying asleep. which is a terrible combo. sometimes i lay in bed for hours upon hours before i fall asleep. never before have i thought this was due to my mattress. i always thought it was because i was a light sleeper, or not tired enough, or had too active of a mind...but i am convinced that it's because of my mattress.

here's a little about my mattress...derik bought our mattress when we were dating. he says he only paid like $300 for it (which is hard for me to believe...it's a king). so let's do the math. it's 7 years old...and seeing as how i can sleep till the cows come home, it's probably been slept in more than a normal mattress...so a $300 mattress/7+ years= time for a new mattress for heaven's sake!

Oh yes... a mattress does wonders. Pay the money girl! Good luck on the saving. You won't be sorry. A quality bed is worth it.

Go for it! 900 is not much to pay for a good mattress, especially if it is the perfect one for yoU! Whenever we are on vacation we always wish we had our mattress with us because a good one makes such a difference! I bought one before we were married for like $400 and that last for one year before we had to get a quality one that didn't move when one of us did. Well worth it!!!

Ha Ha, Jared and I just bought a new mattress last month, and let's just say it was time. His parents had our mattress before he was born, so it was literally more than 25 years old, and it was so saggy in the middle that by the morning, both of us were smooshed into each other in the middle! Our new mattress is FABULOUS and now I can actually sleep on my side of the bed, and I don't have to wonder about the stains on the mattress that he claims came from his sister wetting the bed!

I just thought of something funny after Beth mentioned the mysterious stains from their old bed. Brent's sister got a bed from Brent's dad. They realized that it, too, had to be almost 30 years old. However, her husband flat out refused to sleep on it because the possiblity of someone else's "baby batter" being on the bed was too much for him. I've laughed ever since about the term "baby batter." Anyway, I think a new bed is definitley in order for you.

We bought a new mattress and after a few months it was starting to sag. We called the company and they said to bring it it. We we did and they said there was nothing wrong with it and we took it home. On the way home it flew out the back of the truck and landed on the road. After laughing our heads off we loaded it and it flew out once more before we got home. After that we told the company it was really messed up. They gave us some foam to put between the box spring and mattress. Nice huh! my email is chelcann@gmail.com

Yes, my dear, but then you'd sleep til the cows went back out and came home AGAIN! lol... Also, you might try taking some 5HTP... it's a precursor to seratonin, which controls melatonin, which controls sleep cycles. It's just a plant-based amino acid and you can get it at Costco. Supposed to help brighten mood too. :) BTW, I do the same thing-- take a long time to fall asleep-- if I go to bed after about midnight. But if I get in bed by like 10 or 10:30, even 11, I am unconscious in a minute flat. What about you? Also, I bet if you go to bed before Derik you might fall asleep faster... no snoring or whatev, ya know?
