...happy birthday to the man

well it's another year down the drain-o for derik :) he turned 28 today...when my mom's husband asked how old he was, he refused to answer. i felt like the mother of a toddler, "he's a little shy, he's this many." just kidding...we had a majorly uneventful birthday for him. he got off work early to take isaac and i to the doctor. isaac has a horrible cold (the one i just had) and he was scheduled for his 6 month check-up tomorrow. i called to see if we could get in sooner. so today was the day! then we went to walgreens to get me some wal-tussin and on to dairy queen for a birthday treat! my mom and ross came over for some cake (which i managed to make in all of my sickness today--kudos for me, right...?) and derik opened his birthday presents. he got a whole lotta work stuff. afterall, after he gets home he just puts on his grubbies and calls it a day! i should have gotten him some new grubbies because let's be honest, everyone could use some new grubbies...
anyway, happy birthday to derik. here's to 28 more! whoa that'd make him 56!! hahahahahahahahahahaha
