my birthday boy...

here are a few pictures from the occasion. i realized i don't really like throwing parties. it's stressful! my aunt told me that she doesnt like it either, but they're fun to go to for everyone else. i'd rather be that someone else! ok enough about me.

he couldn't wait to get out of my arms and onto that kawasaki grandma bought him! it's a really cute little toy and he's only hurt himself twice so far... and yes, i put him in his almost-birthday suit. it was in the 90's for heaven's sake!

here he is getting excited about a present. he was a good little guy with all the attention!

the present of the night...barney! he absolutely loves barney and let's face it, he's a good guy. he held that thing all night long and today he's been playing with him and giving him hugs. it's really the most precious thing you've ever seen.

the birthday boys...my uncle bruce and isaac share the same birthday (just a few years apart) and my cousin dusty's birthday is on the 17th. uncle bruce is such a great guy...he said all he wanted for his birthday was to spend it with isaac. they're really a special pair, but in this picture isaac did not want to be held by anyone but mom.

mom to the rescue...

after presents we had cake. we sang to him and he just wanted to touch the fire so bad. i don't think he knows it yet, but he's quite the pyro. he might get that from me. i like fire.

here's the cake. i surprised myself, i was pretty proud of this thing. isaac loves dogs so i made a dog cake...then didn't let him have any :)

i made him a fruit bowl with whole milk yogurt on top. he started to play with it and everyone was watching to see what he did and then as he started to pick the bowl up there was an uproar and he started crying.

so we took it outside.

and a few times during the messiest parts, he wanted mom. why in the world did i wear a white shirt? a mother's love is pretty powerful to pick up your berry-covered child when they cry.

Kelly,
Wow, I am so impressed with the dog cake!!! How long did that take you to make? That is funny that you would go through all of that work and not let Isaac attack his cake! It looks like Isaac and your family had lots of fun! I don't know if I could ever throw a party like you!!!
p.s. For Gabe's 1st b-day cake, I didn't even have to worry about him eating his cake because he just stabbed it with a fork! He had lots of fun...he's not much of an eater!
